About Blossom University
A Different Kind of Learning Community
Blossom University began with a simple but powerful question: what would education look like if learners were truly seen?
Not just tested.
Not just managed.
Not just expected to fit into one system.
Seen.
Blossom University is an inclusive education company built around autonomy, communication access, creativity, and the belief that every learner has something meaningful to contribute. While our work currently begins with ASL classes and communication-centered learning, our long-term vision is much broader.
We are building toward a learning community that serves scholars across ages and stages — from early childhood through adulthood — with programs designed to support confidence, connection, independence, and real-world growth.
Blossom University is currently structured as an LLC and is growing intentionally through classes, digital resources, community partnerships, and future program development.

Meet Sophia Paige
Sophia Paige is the Founder and Educator behind Blossom University, an inclusive learning company built around autonomy, communication access, and the belief that every learner deserves to be seen, supported, and understood.
With 15+ years of experience in early childhood education, American Sign Language (ASL) instruction, and community-based learning, Sophia has developed a deep respect for the many ways individuals learn, communicate, and grow. Her work has centered around creating spaces where learners feel safe to explore, ask questions, build confidence, and connect with the world around them in ways that feel meaningful.
Sophia's approach is rooted in observation, relationship, and real-world learning. She believes education should not force every learner down the same path, but should offer supportive, autonomy-rich environments where each scholar's interests, strengths, and communication style can help shape the learning experience.
Her introduction to ASL became a defining part of her journey. What began as a way to support connection in the classroom quickly revealed something much bigger: communication access can open doors for Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals while also supporting families, young learners, visual learners, and anyone who benefits from more than one way to express themselves.
Today, Sophia continues building Blossom University as a place where learning is inclusive, practical, joyful, and deeply personal. Her work is guided by the belief that when learners are trusted, supported, and given room to lead, they can grow in ways that are powerful, lasting, and uniquely their own.
Her journey to Blossom University began long before the name existed.
My Story
The journey that led to Blossom University.
When I was in high school, I was given the opportunity to choose the path I wanted to follow for the remainder of my high school experience. At the time, it was called a vocational program, and it was integrated into our school.
There were many options to choose from, but I had narrowed mine down to two: Culinary Arts and Early Childhood Education. Since I was having such a hard time deciding, I started asking close family and friends — the people who knew me best.
The decision was almost unanimous: Early Childhood Education.
That's where it all started.
I quickly became fascinated with the way learners learned — not the way schools tried to teach them, but the natural, wild, curious way learners absorbed the world when no one was forcing them to sit still, be quiet, or fit into one mold.
Not long after, I had the privilege of working with a young woman who was Hard of Hearing. Together, we integrated American Sign Language (ASL) into our classroom. At first, I thought it was simply a way to help her stay connected with the learners, and to help the learners connect with her.
But I quickly realized it was something much bigger.
Something shifted in me profoundly. I saw a language that opened doors — not just for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community, but for all learners.
At the time, we didn't have any learners who were considered “in need of ASL,” or so I thought. But the way our toddlers gravitated toward the language was incredible. The shift in our classroom was almost immediate. Learners were more engaged, communicated their needs effectively, and were excited to come to class and learn.
Directors, other educators, parents, and families began asking what we had done differently. They wanted to know how we got the learners to settle, communicate, and participate with so much joy.
That experience changed everything.
It led me to begin teaching ASL informally — at kitchen tables, in living rooms, in community centers, and wherever people were willing to learn. And every time I taught, I was also learning.
I was learning that Communication is more than spoken words.
I was learning that Learners are capable of far more than we often give them credit for.
I was learning that Learners are extraordinary teachers when we are willing to listen.
Blossom University was born from those lessons. It was built from everything I have witnessed, studied, and lived. It became my answer to a system that too often asks learners to shrink themselves to fit a mold.
We don't do that here.
Here, we make the mold bigger.
We question it.
We reshape it.
And when necessary, we shatter it entirely.
We ask:
What does this learner need to succeed?
What are they already brilliant at?
What are they passionate about?
How can we build a world that meets them exactly where they are?
That is the work.
That is the dream.
And it is just beginning.
